Patrick Gandy is a composer, pianist, conductor, orchestrator, arranger and musical director. He has worked with such great artists as Yolanda Adams, Stevie Wonder, Seal, Patrice Rushen, Rickey Minor and Billy Childs to name a few. He has composed and arranged music for the Rose Bowl, 2003 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year Award hosted by James Brown, The National Symphony Orchestra, the Emmy Awards, the People’s Choice Awards, television commercials and motion pictures.
He has lent his conducting skills to the 2002 Grammy Award winning Dianne Reeves tribute recording to Sarah Vaughn entitled The Calling, and the 2006 Grammy winning Billy Childs record entitled Lyric, Jazz-Chamber Music, Vol. 1, as well as national and regional tours of Dreamgirls and Five Guys Named Moe. Patrick also played first keyboard on the national tours of Elton John’s Broadway Musicals The Lion King and Aida in Los Angeles. He has conducted the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and has appeared in venues as diverse as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the White House. Patrick is the founder and executive producer of a new online community entitled The Silence Is Broken. He has created broadcast content to eradicate HIV and AIDS through his work on The Silence Is Broken Campaign, he is producing his new modern opera, The Family, and putting the finishing touches on his book and online series, The Emancipation of Kinky Haired Girls. |
